Pricing

Each site has its own plan, and pages and views are unlimited on every plan. The plans differ only in features.

Paid plans are flat monthly Stripe subscriptions, one per site. There is no render allowance and no usage charge.

What's included

• Domains: a plan serves cards for its first verified domains, oldest first: 1 on Free, 3 on Pro, 15 on Business. Extra domains stay verified and start serving cards after an upgrade.
• Cache: a card is drawn on the first request for a page and cached for up to 14 days, or until the page, the template or the plan changes. Repeat requests are served from cache. Cache purge (Pro, Business) drops a site's cached cards.
• Short links: every plan, up to 10,000 per site. The card in a shared link's preview is an ordinary card, cached like any other. Link-preview crawlers are not counted as clicks.
• Custom short-link domain (Business): links are shared as go.example.com/… instead of linkmag.net/s/….

Fair use

A site draws at most 20,000 new cards per UTC day. Past that, new cards are not drawn until the next UTC day: the card URL redirects (HTTP 302) to the page's own og:image when it has one, and otherwise returns 503 with Retry-After. Cached cards keep serving. The limit exists to stop abuse, not to bill.

Cards are for pages published on the site's verified domains. The service is not a general image-generation, rendering or proxy backend; generating cards at scale for anything else, such as minting them through explicit-mode parameters, can lead to rate limits, paused card generation or a suspended site, as the Terms describe.

Subscribe, change or cancel

• Subscribe: POST /v1/sites/{siteId}/checkout with {"plan": "pro"} returns a Stripe Checkout link for the user. Nothing is charged until the user pays, and the plan changes as soon as they do. The site page has the same buttons.
• Change plan: only the signed-in owner switches between Pro and Business, on the site page, so an API key alone cannot raise a bill. The switch takes effect at once and starts a new billing period; that day's invoice credits the unused part of the old price.
• Cancel: POST /v1/sites/{siteId}/billing-portal returns a Stripe customer portal link for payment methods, invoices and cancellation. Cancellation is possible at any time; the plan runs to the end of the paid period. The site then returns to Free: the badge comes back, captions stop, the custom short-link domain stops serving, and only the oldest verified domain serves cards.

Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. GET /v1/sites/{siteId}/usage returns the plan, the period and renders: the number of new cards drawn (cache misses) in that period.
